Current Events Connections-
Keeping up with important events in our world can mkae us better readers, writers, and citizens.
Keep a 5 day event log for a major current event/ news event from articles you read in the newspaper or
from an online news website like CNN.com or WRAL.com.
For each day print or cut out the article and use looseleaf paper to record:
1. summarize the day's events
(include the date)
2. clarify 2 challenging words realted to the event
3. 2 questions you have about the story/event
4. predict what you think will happen next
All of the above must be on complete sentences.
Turn it in to Mrs. Elmoustakim for 3 points on your final average for the marking period.
You can do this once each marking period.
